Even Claris Emailer can handler AppleScript characters, so there must be
something duff in the plain-text version of the digests. Maybe it'll turn
out that I should resubscribe to a MIME version or something, as with
MACSCRPT. (?)
Yes, I did pay for Emailer. :-) It still works perfectly, except for an
annoying bug whereby outgoing messages are truncated if they contain a
76-character line beginning with ">" and ending with "." (I've written a
script to deal with this.) The only incoming messages that don't display
perfectly are the 50% of Apple newsletters that begin "You appear to be
using an email application that won't properly display the graphical (or
HTML) version of our email" and the stuff I get from 50% of my twin
nieces. ;-) But I'll obviously switch to another client when I get round
to upgrading all my desktop gear and run OS X full time. Unfortunately,
for - ah - socio-economic reasons, I'm not able to do that at the moment.
:-)
