Hi all,
Calling in the opinions of this group holds alot of weight for me, as
I'm sure it does for many others.. This is my excuse for posting a
slightly off topic question. ;-)
We've got some servers that run applescript and InDesign, pretty
heavily all day. One of my colleagues suggested that we should
consider running Server rather than just OSX clients on those servers..
I'm not really sure what benefits we would get out of that and I
haven't had much experience with OSX server.. ?
So I guess my real question, is ..
A) Could we expect a performance increase from running Applescripts --
> Indesign on Leopard server?
B) Are there any other glaring advantages we would get from using
server in such a way..?
I understand that logging system and applications errors is more
comprehensive on server, and I think there are little things like
being able to create applescript CGI applications..? anything else I
can use as a plus for switching to server when i take this to the
boss? :)
Thanks for any thoughts on the matter
Wayne Melrose
