I understand that logging system and applications errors is more comprehensive on server, and I think there are little things like being able to create applescript CGI applications..? anything else I can use as a plus for switching to server when i take this to the boss? :)

We don't do quite the work mix you're talking about, but I can share two observations: (a) we used to run Server on a server, but our IT folks decided the performance benefits weren't worth the management differences, so now we run Client on all our servers, and (2) the "Applescript CGI Enabler" seems to have been dropped sometime during Tiger. This came to my attention because someone wrote and asked about using my alternative AS CGI system ("peacePipe") on a more recent release of Server.

So it may present a prettier front end for managing services and users ... or not.
