Hello

Hi

I never used run script from a folder action script.

Is it really needed?

Short answer is yes :-) The longer answer would take alot longer to explain but it's not a project that I'm starting, it's a project that needs to be developed further.

Wy not use the script as a handler in the folder action script?

Because the code in the run script is generated for that specific run.

For a lot of features, Finder is not the best tool. It would be better to use System Events.

I agree, which is why I was trying to script it out of finder.. I'd also like to avoid system events, seeing as though the code actually works, when run outside of Folder actions, I'm curious to know what I"m missing that is making the script fail inside the folder actions..

Thanks
