Hey Luther,

If you restart your Mac and hold down the Option-Key you'll get the chance to start up from the recovery partition (on a Lion system).

If you turn on the Disk Utility's Debug Menu:

 defaults write com.apple.DiskUtility DUDebugMenuEnabled 1

You can select 'Show Every Partition' to see and be able to mount the 'Recovery HD' partition.
