Hi Chris,
Thank you for your time and advice.
As far as timers, once ical/Calendar became unreliable for running scripts, etc., I discovered using software that is actually designed for home automation to be really nice.
I use XTension and it is awesome as it allows a much more complex system than setting maybe 20 timers per day.

I will definitely look into the naming/renaming utilites.  I have a lot of files do deal with now, and we do have to rename files on a daily basis.

Hey Dee Dee,

In a word Folder Actions suck.

They're a great idea, but I've never found them to be reliable enough for a real workflow.
