I fully agree with you Melanie, don't get me wrong - I support the Mac &
the tools that Apple has provided, & plan to buy Jaguar as soon as it
ships . Where this gets frustrating when you have used these tools as an
active part of your business - having several different accounts on top
of your main business domain name, and now are faced with the decision
of how many accounts you need to keep up. I might keep one mac account,
but as a part of my biz, I'm reevaluating the cost effectiveness of 2 or
3 mac.com accounts.
As someone mentioned earlier, I think maybe the hardest part of it all
was that as loyal Mac users, we were blind sided with this, & now given
60 days. It would have been nice if we could have had some kind of
for-warning that this would be announced.
I agree that you do get a lot for the $100, it just gets expensive if
you look at translating several accounts over to the new .mac.

I think iTools -- and now .Mac -- was designed mostly for ordinary Mac
users
who need things to be easy and quick, not for users who know how to
design
and upload their own websites. Most people have neither the time nor the
inclination to learn those skills. Nor do they want to invest in the
software they would need to do that. But they'd still like to put up a
page
of photo's to share with friends and family, or a file-sharing webpage,
etc.
