I'll jump in on that one, Barbara...
We encourage the "protection" of the codes as much as possible, for
everyone's benefit:
1. The vendors are gracious enough to offer discounts and Apple has set
up the MUG Store to benefit "us." Maintaining the security of those codes
and access to these deals is a way to demonstrate that we are
responsible, and when given an opportunity, can accomodate their terms.
2. From a more selfish perspective, these codes represent a benefit to
being a MUG member in good standing. All MUG leaders are seeking
compelling reasons for people to join their groups. The MUG Store and
vendor deals Lorene gathers up are just such a reason - a value-added
benefit that costs nothing to implement and can be a nice incentive.
You're doing the right thing by being strict. Wish everyone out there
would do the same.
