Vendors don't "donate" software. They give it under the heading of
Marketing. That you are not a 501c3 should make no difference. I asked
several vendors about this years ago, so my source for my statement is the
collective response of many top Mac supporting vendors.
Likewise, members can write off dues under business expenses. They simply
cannot call it a charitable donation. The only benefit of a 501c3 is when
people (members) want to make a sizable donation, such as a lot of cash or
hardware they want to call a donation.
