We have tried the PrintThemYourselfRoute. They're ok but don't last long.
On the reverse, we had Steve Wozniak's famous quote:
"Our first computers were born not out of greed or ego but in the
revolutionary spirit of helping common people"
(What a profoundly great statement!)
The solution we incorporated was to find a local embroiderer to save our logo
(on his Italian Mac) so we can print on any sort of material, hats, shirts,
polos, bags, etc. It costs a tad more but at least they are as permanent as
the fabric upon which they are embroidered. The more we order, the cheaper
it
becomes. Our website is printed on the sleeve.
Many or our members don't want more t-shirts so this solution workedbwe have
even had our logo on dress shirts, jogging pants, etc. Next will be a
MacWeddingGown!
The original set-up fee was about $US75 bucks. We have been using our
current logo for years, although we need to change it per Apple copyright
rules.
We've had logo contests but as of now the original 18 yr. old logo is still
being used. We'll modify it soon to comply with AppleBranding.
An example: We purchased some better-quality polos @ WalMart (excuse the big
box) for $6.
To embroider the logo was $7. Total cost of a really good-looking shirt was
$13.
The neat thing is that SMUG members can choose anything they want to have it
embroidered on and it is
