Hi Nick,
When you create a folder action workflow in Automator, any files added
to the target folder will automatically be passed into your workflow
when the folder action is triggered. So you don't need the Get Folder
Contents action, I'd try your workflow without it.
That said, it's not recommended practice to create folder action
workflows or scripts that then make new files within the target
folder. That can wreak havoc with the folder action dispatching
mechanism since it monitors the target folder for new files. I
recommend creating another folder and putting the output of your
folder action in that folder instead.

Hi
I wonder if someone could help me with a folder action I put
together in Automator (under Snow Leopard), using mostly actions
that Doug Adams developed. Basically what I would like to do is to
automatically convert audio files dropped into a folder from AAC to
MP3 using a folder action/workflow. I would like the files to
remain in the same folder as the original files.
Here is the folder action I put together: folder action -> get
folder contents -> choose encoder -> convert tracks -> choose
encoder -> restore encoder.
The error message I am getting when I drag files into the folder is
'No tracks have been sent to this Action'
Maybe you can spot something obvious I am doing wrong.
I would be grateful for any pointers in the right direction,
Thanks
Nick
