Correct. Currently supported on iPhone 4s, MacBook Air and Mac Mini. The need to support older hardware may influence your choice of how to move forward. Also BLE is really designed as a lighter weight protocol for small data chunks, so it depends on your target functionality. I don't think you want to be looking at streaming large amounts of data (media for example) over BLE).
