Ordinarily I'd agree with you. However when learning something the
size of Cocoa AND Objective-C at the same time, it's humanly
impossible to find out what every new term means - since 99% of what
you'll see in the first month or so will be new. You'll have to skip
over most of it hoping it will become clear later.
And there's a huge difference between knowing the definition of
"conforms to" or "protocol" or "object" and _really_ understanding
what it is and why it's important.
My mental deficiency seems to be such that I don't learn well by
reading something, unless it's a new small part of something I
already know about... learning by doing is much better.
