Hi, I'm a newcomer to the list, so forgive me if this has been asked a
million times before. Is this list the correct place to post
Java+Cocoa questions, or is this strictly an Obj-C group?
It is the proper place for any Cocoa discussion in any language, though
the vast majority here program in ObjC. I use Java for my Cocoa work,
as a rule, as I like the toolchain better. I know of at least one
person who uses CocoaPython, and hangs out here. (Or did - Just - you
still here?)
Unless your question is CocoaJava specific, an ObjC answer is often
just as good as a Java answer. I have found that one does have to have
reading acquaintance with ObjC to do Cocoa, but that is a far cry from
ObjC mastery. A few afternoons will usually let you interpret answers
correctly, as ObjC is a very easy language to read.
Java on Mac questions, of course, should go to java-dev, and pure Java
questions should go to a pure java forum like
comp.lang.java.programmer. Language wars should go to /dev/null, in
the main.
