perhaps everyone is catching up to Mac OS and adding
forks/attributes/streams/etc. but the key is not making
sure that it's efficient; in the end, it has to be useful
to the end-user. maybe m$/linux/whoever will do something
so incredible that it revolutionizes the computing world,
wins industry accolades, appears on a time magazine cover,
etc. otherwise, it will just be a hidden feature that the
underlying OS uses and end-users go yawn.
i prefer apple's approach: identify a need and implement a
useful solution. if it needs more forks in hfs+, they will
add support. if not, they will find another solution. but
either way, it's not about the filesystem having X feature.
it's not about adding something because it's cool. don't
mistake the trees for the forest.
