Brian,
It's just the way Apple does business. You can't have the info you
want unles you sign an NDA, and once you sign, you can't talk to those
who haven't.
I understand how NDAs work. And I assumed that people would NOT tell
me things in a public forum if their NDA restricts them from doing so.
Honestly, the fact people instantly jumped out and said "hey, don't
tell this guy any secrets" looks strange to me. Hmmmm.
You either join the club, or wait. It's always a source of frustration
for (poor) folks trying to use Apple's beta releases. You just need to
decide whether you really want to be working on the new stuff or not.
Either pony up the money, or wait. It's just how they work.

A higher price tag can discourage people from easily getting their
hands on more sensitive information, and then spreading it. Which I
realize, as I used to be an ADC member for quite a few years. Back
when I was all excited about working on my OpenDoc parts.
Considering KVO would require a Java equivalent of
triggerChangeNotificationsForDependentKey, which would mean messing
with method dispatch to Java objects, and that WebKit still has no
Java-Cocoa equivalent, I expect the answers to all my original
questions are "no". I'm not paying a lot of money to get a quick "no".
But if someone, somewhere, had seen or heard something relating to
Tiger which means Apple has a change of heart, it would be nice to
know. Were it not for Apple kicking around having Java replace or be
the peer of Objective-C back in 10.0 days, I doubt there would even be
AppKit and Foundation Java stubs. Apple rarely, if ever, talks about
Cocoa-Java. Which, in the end, I figure answers any of my questions.
