Hmm well it is copied into the resources fold and it is an icns file
I rebooted and nothing seems to help. I even did as one person
suggested and copied the app to the desktop. The application icon
works fine, it's the document icons for the files that the app creates.

-> Log out and back in or duplicate your app's bundle in the Finder
to get Icon Services to reload your app's icons
