Has anyone actually played with the Blue Eye II ?
A review in MacUser UK has something I didn't know before... it says that
the new software also allows you to compensate for ambient light, asking
you to put the puck over the screen but facing you or something like
that. It also mentions the fact that this new version can also calibrate
(via LUTs) and characterize non-LaCie displays.
Then I received a press release today, and it also mentions both things;
ambient light compensation, and support of non-LaCie monitors.
So yes, I know it's overpriced for being just a Sequel, and the Sequel is
not the best device, but... it has always had this ability to read
ambient light, that no one had put to good use before... reading and
compensating the ambient light in the display
calibration/characterization process sounds useful, if it's being done
right.
Any experiences?
