Pressview XL's bundled profiler vs 3rd party?

Hello all,

With the previous discussion regarding Lacie's new Blue Eye being inferior
to OptiCal and Andrew's decision to dump Pressview's profiling software it
got me to wondering how well a Pressview colorimeter compares with some of
the newer profiling options.

I am wondering, if one wants to calibrate and profile a Pressview monitor
to be its very best is the all in one package of the Pressview sufficient?
Are the newer devices such as the "spyder" or Spectrocam better. If its
better how so?

Andrew, why did you go the route of Optical and the Color Vision Spyder
over PressView's bundled profiling system?

Thanks,

Joseph
