We calibrate our Mitsubishi monitors with ColorBlind ProveIt! software and
an X-Rite DTP92 colorimeter. I don't have any experience with the LaCie
hardware, but the profiles we make for our monitors are very good. We
calibrate our monitors to a color temperature of 65000K at at gamma of 2.2
for all of our digital camera workstations. Our RGB setup is set to Adobe
RGB (1998). We are in the middle of developing custom ICC profiles for our
PhaseOne LightPhase cameras with ColorBlind Professional. We have been
making custom profiles for our PhotoPhase scanning backs for three years
now with pretty succesful results. The canned profiles supplied with the
software will get you started, but I would certainly reccomend making
custom profiles at some point. We find that this setup works pretty well
most of the time. We ignored Phase One's reccomendation of setting your RGB
working space to "Phase One RGB setup" and using a very generic Trinitron
monitor profile. I hope this helps a little. I would say explore other
options if you are getting weird monitor profiles and calibrations with the
LaCie package. We have had very good results with the ProveIt! package.
