Are you having your scanner convert to CMYK.
A good "working space" is the key to moving color around.
Wherever the conversion is taking place -
you need to have the correct profiles in place
for an editing space and a destination space for your scan.
Your scanner may be doing a perfect job, and if all the profiles
down the line are unrelated, your finals will be unreliable.
Also, I would not be surprised to find the monitor and the inkjet
showed a bit more contrast. Is the color accurate.
I think for reflected copy - a good reflective profile from the chart
should handle all your substrates. After all, you want the base to effect
the color.
For transparent scanning, however, you do need profiles for ALL
the film types due to their base fog and mask tints.
