Guys
I've had a problem with OptiCal on Win 98 [with a Matroxcard -
it's compliant - tested]

I have tracked down the instance of when Optical is turned

off once it has been correctly started. If my computer

monitor sleeps (running win98), it somehow turns off the

Optical Software.
[dumping the CLUT I presume]

Comes back on again when I restart optical.

I don't know why. Might have something to do with how/where

it is loaded.
any ideas please?
Plus - although the profile is in the <windows\system\colour >
folder and Adobe Gamma has been renamed, to disable it,
Photoshop 6 is still using an older profile -
Pretty tenacious Photoshop in this way, I've come across
instances where PS can still load an old profile which is no
longer on the disk [this even on a mac]!
I realise that it may be necessary to edit the registry on Win
'98 but could someone confirm this please?
I'd imagine the follwing procedure might do it:
local machine \ software \ Adobe\ colour \monitors \ monitor 0 and type in the
route to and name of the profile there.
thanks for the tips
