Well, if you are in a separated workflow then there's no problem. Many
color proofing rips, among them BestColor, support recombination of
separated jobs. And there you'll have your traps and overprints. It can
do a monitor preview too.
The hard thing is on a composite workflow. Color proofing rips that
support overprint (and thus traps) in composite jobs are only a few ones.
And it's there that Acrobat 5 comes to the rescue, given that it can
export a 600-dpi TIFF with overprints applied.
