Not sure a filter is necessary (although
if a unit comes out, I'd like to test it out).
When the user places FOGRA ISO offset pages in the viewing booth next
to inkjet ISO proofs, then inkjet papers with UV brightener don't
offer a visual match in the non-printing areas of the netto page
format. No amount of ICC color management can change this for a page
proof and the FOGRA ISO proof verification will reject such papers
because the media dE is too high. Hence the cookbooks use Sihl 3099 /
MPA J35 and not e.g. Imation Matchprint which has a lot of brightener.
ICC color management can help the user if she is proofing loose
scans, though. In this case she can use a smart to correct the white
point (and hence the media relative separation), and cut away the
area outside the loose scan. A tip: When viewing the loose scan in a
viewing booth, trim away the non-printing areas of the inkjet paper
and place the loose scan on a sheet of the intended offset paper.
