what light wavelengths for CMYRGB?

  • Subject: what light wavelengths for CMYRGB?

Hi,
Recently I asked about expected measurement values for standard ink colors
for the printing primaries. When the laughter subsided, it became clear
that there was enough variation in the colorants such that there would be
substantial variation in the measurements also. (I enjoyed all the answers,
thanks.)

Here's another question related to the notion of measuring "standard"
colors.

Is there a generally accepted definition of what specific light wavelength
is associated with these six primary colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Red,
Green, Blue? If yes, what are these wavelengths?

If there is a standard, are colorimeters designed to measure light at these
specific wavelengths?

(Or, are these colors typically defined as within a limited region of the
visible spectrum, and colorimeters designed to measure these regions.)

Thanks,
Greg
