Rendering Intent and Converting to Lab

Is is possible to control the rendering intent on "both" sides of a color
conversion in Photoshop 6?
Like, in a CMYK to CMYK reseparation, is the switch to control which
CMYK->Lab tables is selected on the Source profile side located in the
Conversion Options? Or is Photoshop hardcoded to use RelCol on the Source
profile?
Just to be doubly sure, is specifying a RI when converting from CMYK to Lab
effectively forces Photoshop to use the A2Bx of our choice?

Regards all,

Roger Breton
