Harvey,
Not quite sure what youre doing wrong, but there is no reason why you should
be getting output like this using the canned profiles for the 7000.
Are you using a RIP? If not, are you sending CMYK to the 7000 from
PhotoShop?
Assuming you have made a monitor profile using the Spyder, you should have
good representation of your image on screen.
Put the image into Adobe RGB (1998) or ColorMatch RGB.
To print to the 7000 from PhotoShop 6.01 in the Print Dialog, select the
Media type, go into Advanced Settings and select No Color Adjustment. Make
sure the Source space is set to your working space (Adobe RGB) and pick the
canned profile for your media type in the Print Space pulldown. Your choice
of intent will depend on your image, but Perceptual will get you close.
