I tried this work around and still received an error dialog box saying that
the profile could not be associated with the monitor. I then re-calibrated
and when I got the name profile dialog I typed in the windows suffix
(.icm)and it associated no problem. The next time I calibrated, it
associated fine without my adding the suffix and has been fine in a number
of repeat tests. I tried it yet again calibrating via file/profile and
calibrate, and yes the red problem reappeared. I subsequently calibrated
using the method Dana advocates and sure enough all was well and I am back
using Photoshop like nothing ever happened. If it wasnt for the fact that I
need to demonstrate ColorVision products to clients using Windows I think I
would just stick to the Mac.

This was a sticky problem yet with a relatively easy solution, many things
are like that I suppose, easy once you know how. Thanks Dana for your prompt
input, you have made it on to my Christmas card list.
