Try it again with an RGB TIFF file. That's where I suspect the
discrepency is. CMYK images are converted by the OS using a simple
inversion under OS X. CMYK images are converted by the application on OS
X, and it can vary frrom app to app. So I suspect that what's going on
here is that your CMYK test file got converted to RGB differently between
the two OS's. If you start out with an RGB image, the OS probably leaves
them alone so long as they are untagged. I do know that tagged RGB TIFFs
do get color managed to PostScript (a CSA of the embedded profile is
generated) and non-PostScript devices when using OS X apps that depend on
ColorSync for everything (like Preview, but not Photoshop).

About a year ago I used Preview on OS X and Photoshop 6 on OS 9 with
Print Space set to Same As Source.
