There are other variables (such as type of plate, blanket tension,humidity,QC
issues) that will effect the "bottom line" dot gain. No matter what anyone
sez - if you have run your color bars and screens and measured densities for
each color at the steps on a particular paper - then for those conditions
that is your actual dot gain - not what anyone else sez. For example:
density readings indicate cyan at 50% screen is 62%, then you have a 12% dot
gain and that becomes your compensation value.
