Tyler,
Your comments and questions are just fine, no need to apologize.
I am curious how you use the i1 and what your applications are?
For example, you like to scan strips but not to profile. Why? To me, now
knowing better, the main reason to scan strips would be to profile a printer
or to test/set linearity.
One of my complains about Gretag is that there is poor startup info included
in the package. For example, I bought the i1 Profiler Pro package. It came
with several CDs and to get familiar with it, I installed the i1 match,
fired up the i1 and it connected OK but I could no go further. i1 Match
wanted a CD key. I looked high and low, no CD key. I spoke with Gretag
several times and they insisted it should work without the dongle or CD key
installed. Even so, I tried it with the dongle and it still did not work.
Four days later, Gretag finally admitted that i1 Match would not work in the
Pro package even though the CD was included but without a CD key. I think
that is bad that after buying a $4000 package, they will not allow me to try
or use the low-cost version of the software. I can only use one software at
a time since there is only one i1.
Talk about bad "Out-of-Box Experience". The equipment and software are
fine, just a wee bit extra user friendliness on startup for beginners would
be great.
