We just profiled a press.
The results were great.
Our inkjet proof matches the press better than the printers Approval.
The problem I see is that when you ask a printer to run to "their
standard densities and dot gain" that is an interesting question.
Most printers don't print that way.
They have a color proof at press and chase color to match.
So in reality, they don't have a standard.
When I viewed the "standard sheet" to the printers own proofs I had to
shake my head.
But it doesn't matter. We converted the images and asked them to now
print these images at those densities and the match was fantastic.
