I suspect that it's more due to the mechanical differences between
the printers. In the PG 3000, the donor material wraps around a
heated drum, where in the 3500 I believe it's pressed flat against a
heated plate, as it is in the 4000 series. The plate doesn't seem to
heat as evenly as the drum...
