So did you edit both B>A and A>B directions? If not, your profile will
output a different result than originally (which is the point of the edit).
But the softproof A>B will proof the current results of the colours (the
changed colours if you will) as they now are (which is different in
colour)...
So either edit both directions, or use the original profile for softproofing
(which is kund of cheating but will do the trick).
First of all, though, make sure that your monitor profile is accurate. It
may well be that this isn't correct, and if so you'll be chasing your
tail...
