The rip works well with RGB. As long as its tagged with any profile such as
srgb, Adobe98, Best etc. If it isn't then there should be one for input
you're comfordable using.

Just this afternoon I was telling a co-worker the problem with the the
manual is that the information you need is spread over several chapters and
takes some detective work.

Anybody have any tips on how to get the best from this RIP/Proofer combo

with RGB source data?
Going from RGB to CMYK is the better conversion than the CMYK-CMYK I usually
get (I got some good grays in a drop shadow from a rgb file this
afternoon). First is to get a proper ink limit/balance and linearization
from Postershop on the printer your using. This will get you closer to a
gray balance before you make a proper profile used for the destination
profile.
Alot has to do with a combination of Postershops setup for paper-ink and 3rd
party ICC profiles that's all combined in the Postershops 'calibration'
module. Also check the image file for any attached ICC profiles and adjust
Postershop accordingly.

Or is there some more thorough on-line documentation available somewhere?
Try www.onyxgfx.com for on line tech support. More of a on line info bank
than an actual technician. Also try the help files with the program.
Please let me know the version of Postershop and if you have any more
specific question.
