HP 5000 Inks and PANTONE 300

  • Subject: HP 5000 Inks and PANTONE 300

This is in respose to the post of Lee Blevins on Friday, May 23, 2003.

The HP DesignJet 5000 is a Pantone-calibrated device. This means that
Pantone has a license agreement in place with HP, under which we develop
custom look-up tables providing visually-calibrated CMYK data for the most
accurate reproduction of PANTONE Colors on this device.

You may visit http://www.pantone.com/support/support.asp?idArticle=135
<http://www.pantone.com/support/support.asp?idArticle=135> and download
support files for the device. Posted are files for heavy coated, high
gloss, UV heavy coated and UV vinyl substrates.

The look-up tables are printable PDF's that are coded with the optimum CMYK
values for each PANTONE Color. This library will display the output of the
full PANTONE Library on the particular device. Also provided are ICC
profiles, as well.

Please note that the look-up tables were made using PostScript 3 support on
the device. This is necessary in order to achieve the optimum color
reproduction.

I hope that you and your fellow list members find this information helpful.

Best regards,

John Stanzione
