Thanks for the reply. Makes total sense to me. I understand why two
conversions would screw things up.
But with further fiddling, I've discovered that, in my case, both settings
don't yield the same result:
If I let the 2000p driver do the conversion (the 1st option), the PDF
preview colors look normal.
But if I have PhotoShop do the conversion (the 2nd option), I still get the
reddish washed out look as before.
That I don't understand.
As a test, I selected a different printer and paper combination, and the
same thing happens. The 1st way yields normal color. The 2nd way yields a
color cast.
At least I now have one method that works. Which is a good thing. But it
seems something's still amiss, and I love to understand it.
Any ideas what might be going on?
