The Xerox 7700 is a replacement for the Phaser 790 which had an EFI
Controller. The 7700 is marketed both as a General Office Printer and
for the Graphics Arts user. The High End Xerox 7700 versions come with
a Monaco EZ color solution. The 7700 does not have much Color Control
and not many features compared to the OKI 9500-which is more focused on
the Graphics user.
The OKI 9500 has Monaco EZ match profiling software for creating
Monitor and Printer profiles, which is bundled with the DXN version. It
is one of the first printers which can use Link Profiles for CMYK
Workflow for Simulating Competitive Printers (Not aware of other
printers in this category) and CSA/CRD for RGB Workflow. The Third
option is for PostScript Color Matching which uses PCM, based on the
data stream in the PostScript job. It also has multiple controls for
Monitor displays which can be enabled. The Time to first print and
speed is one of the fastest, 30 CPM on the OKI 9500 compared to Xerox
7700
OKI 9500 has also paid the Color Mafia for Pantone certification.
Konica, Xante CL30, Xerox 7300 are all based on the same OKI Engine.
The Best Color Proof is also available on the OKI 9500 for Proofing
Applications and sold as a separate package.
