Neil:
Your are correct, when you are making proofs you want to use
colorimetric intents. But in the 50PS that is even more restrictive,
for the RIP forces the Absolute Colorimetric (ie, does not allow the
Relative Colorimetric) and you are always getting ink for the paper
simulation. That is precisely what Alejandro (origin of this thread)
was trying to avoid.
So, my explanation was really pointing to the fact that the DJ50PS
"printing" mode would allow him to select the Rel Col intent...
at the expense of forcing the conversion to press space out of this
workflow. Since his original files come in EuroScale CMYK,
the "printing" workflow still allows him to "proof".
Does this make sense to you?
