The main impression may be similar, but the best description is that
they look a bit "solarized"
I'm a photographer and I hear the same thing from my colleagues....
Would there be any reason that profiles would translate differently in
OSX compared to OS9 ?
and what are people's experience ?

How funny. We've been having similar problems and in fact, just
yesterday, they came to a bit of a head and I thought the best thing to
do with my 2100 was to throw it, a long way, out the window.
We're getting this 'solarized' effect, which looks horrible. This is
on Epson's new Glossy paper. It looks terrible compared to the old
'metamerised' Premium Glossy. Which may have done some weird things,
but undeniably looked great once it was dry.
We're also having problems with 'lines' of unprinted areas, as if the
heads are dirty, but when we run the head-check it prints out the test
just fine... no breaks.
Last night I started wondering whether this might be a driver problem.
I shall try and do some tests this afternoon.
