There is actually a newer SCSI to USB2 converter from Ratoc that supports up
to 7 chained SCSI devices, but scanner support is certified for PC only... I
have posted in some places and asked the local Creo service company, and if
something comes up, I'll let you know.

I think I understand the difference now.

Even if it did, it would be a shame to drop such a nice scan application as
EverSmart Scan. Finally, it's just a matter of booting on the right OS to
keep on going. The only thing is that I won't be able to work in Photoshop CS
and scan in the background as I am used to. But is there a chance that
Photoshop CS might still support Mac OS Classic although it is not listed in
the product page supported OS's?

In fact, Creo has developed an OS-X supported version of oXYgen, but they
dropped the Eversmart / Eversmart Pro support to concentrate on the more
recent scanners (Supreme, Select and IQSmart). Why would they support the
older scanners when they can sell you a new one? Running a second box to use
the scanner on would be a good thing if I had a significant amount of scans.
But for my small production, it would just turn the work place into a noisier
airport environment! The Eversmart are not particularly quiet! And computer
makers, especially Apple, have improved many things along the years, but
noise levels!

Cheers,
