It appears to me that it is not possible for a user to profile their own
media on the HP 50 PS using the Heidelberg rip.
There is an option on the server (rip) to "import media."
The media seems to have a proprietary extension.
Is there any way to create a media file and import it?
Side note:
I finally figured out how the rip color management works.
The "print" mode lets the user select an input profile and maps color
from that to the printers color space.
The "proof" mode lets the user select an input profile and a "press"
profile.
It appears to me that what must be happening here is the s/w maps from
the input to the press and then to the printers color space.
Is this a normal setup for using a printer to make proofs? I've never
seen this "three level" mapping approach to color management.
