I assume this is Acrobat Professional 6.01?

1. The PostScript generated by QuarkXPress does not retain any profile data, so the resulting PDF is "untagged" unless you have Distiller set to use the same CMYK profile you are using in Photoshop. [I personally would not recommend tagging the file this way, but rather create a PDF/X-1a document which includes an OutputIntent. The OutputIntent profile gets embedded and is treated for proofing purposes as a source profile, but is a non-committing source profile when printed (i.e. your CMYK content is still considered device-dependent, not ICCBased).]

2. If the PDF is untagged Acrobat uses it's Preferences>General>Color Management CMYK working space as the assumed source profile for all CMYK content in your PDF. If there is an OutputIntent, or the PDF contains embedded profiles for CMYK objects, those are used instead.

3. In the print dialog box, you need to hit the Advanced button, to get the Advanced Print Setup dialog. There is a Printer Profile pop-up menu you need to set to your inkjet printer profile (same as what you select in Photoshop's Print With Preview dialog). You do not get rendering intent control. Make sure "Apply Working Color Spaces" is checked also.

Chances are, the defaults are the cause of the problem. The Acrobat team has this obsession with PostScript Color Management, and in combination with the Apply Working Color Spaces check box being turned off by default, you're pretty much guaranteed a mess unless you have made all of the requisite sacrifices to the color management gods for the past 10 years.
