I am using Gretag Macbeth's ProfileMaker 5 application to create
profiles for our Canon 10D camera, and I have a couple of issues that
hopefully someone on the list may be able to help.
I would like to shoot the "Digital ColorChecker SG" target in RAW mode,
but I don't know of any RAW converter software that does not apply a
profile such as Adobe RGB (1998) or sRGB etc. I am making the
assumption that any profile conversion will affect the "Colour Numbers"
and hence make the resulting profile less effective. For the record, I
normally use Capture 1 pro for RAW conversion.
The other related problem I have is what method does the group use to
photograph the SG target. Gretag Macbeth recommend a good Repro
Lighting setup, with lights at 45 degrees etc. Getting an even light
balance seems very critical.
Any ideas on the above would be most welcome.
Best regards,
Simon Clifford-Smith
