So long as you open images in Preview. If you save images from Preview,
it's lethal to good color management practice.
1. Open a tagged TIFF, and resave as TIFF (use Save As). The resulting
TIFF is untagged.
2. Open a tagged TIFF, and resave as JPEG (use Export). The resulting
JPEG is untagged.
2. Open a tagged TIFF, and resave as JPEG 2000 (use Export). The
resulting JPEG is tagged sRGB regardless of the original source
profile.
3. Open a tagged TIFF, and resave as PDF (use Export). The resulting
PDF is tagged Generic RGB regardless of the original source profile
And on top of that, they've all been converted to a common destination.
They all have identical numeric values among them, but are completely
different than the numeric values in the original file. It appears the
file was converted from embedded source to monitor RGB, and then either
no profile was subsequently embedded (TIFF and JPEG), and a bogus
profile was embedded for the others (JPEG 2000 and PDF).
Ummm - JOHN?!?! This is not a healthy application.
