Forget Preview it9s so far as Color Management goes what it shows is
meaningless garbage - see the private email I sent you and Bruce which
quotes material from a previous discussion on Imaging Review.
The bottom line here is that untagged RGB images do use the Generic RGB
Profile and anyone seeing different is either looking at the wrong thing or
deluding themselves - you9re looking at they call Preview without actually
understanding what it9s doing and where it gets it9s instruction from!
In my case I trashed the Generic RGB profile months back and renamed Apple
sRGB to Generic RGB Profile (Internally and externally) - the headache went
away.
