I was basing my comments on tests with earlier versions of OSX (meaning
before 10.3.4). I9ve just checked again (at your request) and yes you9re
correct Preview AND Safari are using the Monitor Profile for Untagged RGB
images. It was as John says up until they shipped 10.3.4, but it looks like
they forgot to tell him when they decided not to tell us ;-)
Since I9d replaced the Generic RGB Profile with the sRGB profile this wasn9t
obvious to me before.
Mo9s gonna love this sh-one-t!
