The old i1 cookbooks explain visually how to select an RGB working space for commercial printing. Select EC-RGB or Adobe RGB (1998) and not ColorMatch, sRGB or monitor RGB.

The List has had discussions about chart systems since its beginning. As a rule if you have an autoscanning spectrophotometer like the iCColor or Spectroscan, pick a chart in the IT8 family into which the ECI 2002 chart belongs.

Early approaches used charts with patch counts as low as 300. Current approaches use charts with patch counts above 1000. A small patch count is convenient in terms of measuring time and is sometimes convenient for non-linear processes.

Thanks,
Henrik
