I'm creating profiles through Postershop 5.5 to an HP5000. When I
print the dark ink restrictions file, how do I go about selecting the
correct value for the C,M,Y and K? I'm past the problem with light
cyan and light magenta that everyone here helped me with :)
I ran into a problem the other day and I assuming I'm selecting my
percentages incorrectly in the first step. After linearization, the
curve that I had looked a little funny (it shot up a little between
the last two points) but I decided to continue to see what would
happen. On the ink limit printout, there appears to be a problem.
Just by looking at the printout, there is a jump from 0.95 to 1 and
1.95 to 2. Between 0 and 0.95, and 1.05 to 1.95, everything looks
smooth but when the scale hits 1 and 2, I see a jump in the colour.
I'm assuming this isn't normal and my mistake was in the dark ink
restrictions.
Can someone explain how to determine what value I need to select on
the dark ink restrictions? I don't think selecting the darkest patch
(as read by a densitometer) is the way to do it.
The particular paper I'm trying to profile is Oce photo plus stain (I
think that's the name) if it makes a difference. I've selected the HP
photo imaging satin on the front panel of the printer.
Any help is appreciated....
Thanks,
Mark
