Marco,

My comments were about the just incase strategy, using the right technology
and having fundamental a backup  plan.

I don't think anyone said that imaging and programs like Photoshop are
perfect.   If a file is damaged (for what ever reason) you potentially would
still have to repaint it if it were 8 or 16 bits. There is no one answer.
